About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Specimen Processor II to join our team in North Charleston, SC. This role involves assisting with the preparation of laboratory specimens for analysis and testing, overseeing the routing of specimens, and encouraging process improvements. The Specimen Processor II will also perform quality assurance checks, resolve production errors, and engage in continuous improvement of processes and services. Administrative duties are also part of the role.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent
• Comfortable handling biological specimens
• Ability to accurately identify specimens
• Experience working in a team environment
• Strong data entry and organizational skills
• High level of attention to detail
• Proficient in MS Office
• Able to lift up to 40lbs.
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

Nice To Haves

• 3 years or more experience (lab, accessioning, production, manufacturing or warehouse environment)

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation of laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
• Oversee routing of specimens to their respective prep areas
• Encourage process improvements and best practices
• Perform quality assurance checks to ensure efficiency and accuracy
• Resolve any production errors as requested by management
• Research and resolve any production errors while escalating
• Engage in continuous process and service level improvements
• Responsible for enforcing and managing policies and procedures
• Perform administrative duties
