About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Specimen Processor I to perform clinical specimen accessioning, sample sorting, and data entry in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment according to established standard operating procedures. The role supports the accurate processing of healthcare tests and involves preparing, identifying, routing, storing, and shipping laboratory specimens, as well as documenting and resolving specimen issues. The position is based in Knoxville, Tennessee. The schedule varies: two days on and three days off, from 3:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with rotating weekends and holidays.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Comfort handling biological specimens.
Ability to accurately identify specimens.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Strong data-entry and organizational skills.
High level of attention to detail.
Experience with MS Office.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
Ability to pass a standardized colorblindness test.

Nice To Haves

One year or more of experience in a laboratory, accessioning, production, manufacturing, or warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing.
Unpack specimens and route them to their respective staging areas.
Accurately identify and label specimens.
Pack and ship specimens to the proper testing facilities.
Meet department activity and production goals.
Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples.
Enter patient information accurately and in a timely manner.
Resolve and document problem specimens.
Perform clinical specimen accessioning and sample sorting according to established standard operating procedures.
