About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Specimen Processor I to join our team in West Columbia, SC. This role involves preparing laboratory specimens for analysis and testing, unpacking and routing specimens, accurately identifying and labeling them, and packing and shipping them to proper testing facilities. The position also requires meeting department activity and production goals, properly preparing and storing excess specimen samples, and performing data entry of patient information accurately and in a timely manner, as well as resolving and documenting any problem specimens. The ideal candidate is organized, accountable, and detail-oriented, with a passion for strengthening physician care.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent
• Comfortable handling biological specimens
• Ability to accurately identify specimens
• Experience working in a team environment
• Strong data entry and organizational skills
• High level of attention to detail
• Proficient in MS Office
• Able to lift up to 40lbs.
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

Nice To Haves

• 1 year or more experience (lab, accessioning, production, manufacturing or warehouse environment)
