About The Position
ChristianaCare is currently recruiting for a Full-time Specimen Processing Technician to work in the General Laboratory. The work hours are evening shift, Monday through Friday 3:00pm - 11:30pm. This position requires every other weekend and 2-3 holidays per year.
Requirements
- Associate degree or higher in biology, chemistry or health science required or a High School diploma with at least five years of experience working in specimen processing from similar hospital system.
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States.
- ChristianaCare will not sponsor applicants for this position for an employment visa now or in the future.
Responsibilities
- Process, sort, and deliver laboratory specimens and request slips
- Print and properly affix identification labels to all incoming patient specimens
- Prioritize incoming work, ensuring samples for stat testing are delivered to the appropriate laboratory section in order to maintain stated turnaround times
- Communicate specimen priority to testing personnel upon delivery
