Requirements
- Minimum age requirement of 18
- Good reading, writing and math abilities are required
- Oral and written communication skills sufficient to understand written and spoken instructions in English
- Good organization skills are also required
- Must meet all training competency qualifications for Specimen Preparation Technician within six months of hire
Nice To Haves
- Six (6) months’ experience in a laboratory or key encoding environment
- High School Diploma or equivalent GED exam or other means
- Typing/keyboarding skills of minimum 25 wpm, demonstrated by completion of a typing/keyboarding test
Responsibilities
- Receipt of biological specimens into the department
- Proper entry of specimens into the company’s computer system
- Preparation of samples for analytical testing
- Distribution of these specimens to the proper analytical area
- Archiving specimens after testing
