About The Position

We are looking for an experienced, professional, and outgoing PT Specimen Collector for the Morehead City, NC area. This is a part-time, non-benefit eligible position. The work schedule is Mondays from 9am to 3pm. The ideal candidate must be comfortable performing observed collections.

Requirements

HS Diploma or GED
Minimum of 1 year experience in Customer Service
Minimum of 1 year experience in a Similar Role, such as a Laboratory or Medical Office working with Specimens.
Be dependable and extremely well organized
Strong work ethic, commitment to completing assigned tasks and dedicated to high quality work
Outstanding attention to details, ability to multitask and the ability to complete the job without any errors
Ability to work with patients in a professional and compassionate manner
Ability to communicate well with the clinic's provider and laboratory management
Be able to work independently with minimal supervision
Dress in compliance with the clinic needs
Driver's license and your own reliable transportation

Responsibilities

Ensure that all patient paperwork is filled out correctly and all necessary information has been captured at the time of the collection.
Update and maintain patient information and records as necessary while ensuring patients' privacy. Observe HIPPA regulations while using the laboratory information system.
Perform and follow specimen (urine and saliva) collections protocols for specimen collection.
Conduct directly observed urine specimen collections for male patients in a rehabilitation setting, ensuring compliance with clinical protocols.
Monitor and maintain supplies and supply records for all clinic needs. Communicate to the lab any supplies requested in a timely manner.
Securely and safely package specimens for pick up by the lab's courier service.
Follow general work protocols regarding breaks and cell phone usage during business hours.
Adherence to all clinic policies and OSHA standards/policies.
