About The Position

We are looking for an experienced, professional, and outgoing PT Specimen Collector for the Phoenix, Arizona area. This is a part-time, non-benefit eligible position. The schedule is Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 6:30 am to 4:30 pm. The Specimen Collector will be responsible for ensuring all patient paperwork is accurate, maintaining patient information and records while ensuring privacy and HIPAA compliance, and performing specimen collections (urine and saliva) according to established protocols. This includes conducting directly observed urine specimen collections for male patients in a rehabilitation setting. The role also involves monitoring and maintaining clinic supplies, securely packaging specimens for courier pickup, adhering to break and cell phone policies, and following clinic policies and OSHA standards. The ideal candidate will be dependable, well-organized, possess a strong work ethic, have outstanding attention to detail, be able to multitask, and work independently with minimal supervision. Professional and compassionate patient interaction, good communication with providers and laboratory management, a valid driver's license, and reliable transportation are also required.

Requirements

HS Diploma or GED
Minimum of 1 year experience in Customer Service
Minimum of 1 year experience in a Similar Role, such as a Laboratory or Medical Office working with Specimens.
Be dependable and extremely well organized
Strong work ethic, commitment to completing assigned tasks and dedicated to high-quality work
Outstanding attention to details, ability to multitask and the ability to complete the job without any errors
Ability to work with patients in a professional and compassionate manner
Ability to communicate well with the clinic's provider and laboratory management
Be able to work independently with minimal supervision
Dress in compliance with the clinic needs
Driver's license and your own reliable transportation
Customer service: 1 year (Required)
Specimen Collection in a Lab/Medical Office: 1 year (Required)

Responsibilities

Ensure that all patient paperwork is filled out correctly and all necessary information has been captured at the time of the collection
Update and maintain patient information and records as necessary while, ensuring patients complete privacy. Observing HIPPA regulations while using laboratory information system.
Perform and follow specimen (urine and saliva) collections protocols for specimen collection.
Conducts directly observed urine specimen collections for male patients in a rehabilitation setting, ensuring compliance with clinical protocols
Monitor and maintain supplies and supply records for all clinic needs. Communicating to lab any supplies requested in a timely manner.
Securely and safely package specimens for pick up by the lab's courier service.
Follow general work protocols regarding breaks and cell phone usage during business hours.
Adherence to all clinic policies and OSHA standards/policies
