About The Position

Sagis Diagnostics is looking for a PRN (ON-CALL) Specimen Collector who will be responsible for the collection, processing, handling, and shipping of urine and oral fluid specimens. This role involves interacting with patients, physicians, and clinic staff, ensuring accurate specimen labeling and documentation, and adhering to all safety and privacy guidelines. The position is on-call, Monday through Fridays, 8 am to 5 pm, covering specific zip codes in the San Antonio area, with mileage reimbursement provided.

Requirements

High-school or equivalent required
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Excellent customer service skills required
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite required
Proficient in data entry required
Clean driving record and valid driver license required
Reliable mode of transportation required

Nice To Haves

Minimum 1 year of specimen collector experience preferred
Urine Drug Screening (UDS) collection experience highly preferred

Responsibilities

Facilitate the collection, processing, handling, and shipping of urine and oral fluid specimens
Follow policies and procedures to correctly identify the patient
Properly label specimens and complete the requisition form via paper or online portal
Follow policies and procedures to properly package and ship specimens
Demonstrate customer service & compassion when interacting with patients, physicians, and clinic staff
Communicate with, understand, and react effectively to a diverse patient population base
Follow universal precautions and all OSHA standards when handling specimens
Strictly adhere to HIPAA guidelines
Inform Supervisor of daily tasks, unusual problems or deviations from established procedures
Adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures of Sagis while working at the physician’s office
Pick-up, package and ship the specimens when needed
