About The Position
Sagis Diagnostics is seeking a PRN/ ON-CALL Specimen Collector in Ingram, TX. PRN: Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. This role involves facilitating the collection, processing, handling, and shipping of urine and oral fluid specimens. The ideal candidate will follow policies and procedures to correctly identify patients, label specimens, and complete requisition forms. They will also demonstrate excellent customer service and compassion when interacting with patients, physicians, and clinic staff, while strictly adhering to HIPAA guidelines and OSHA standards. The position requires communication with a diverse patient population and adherence to all Standard Operating Procedures of Sagis.
Requirements
- High-school or equivalent required
- Minimum 1 year of specimen collector experience preferred
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Excellent customer service skills required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite required
- Proficient in data entry required
- Urine Drug Screening (UDS) collection experience highly preferred
- Clean driving record and valid driver license required
- Reliable mode of transportation required

Responsibilities
- Facilitate the collection, processing, handling, and shipping of urine and oral fluid specimens
- Follow policies and procedures to correctly identify the patient
- Properly label specimens and complete the requisition form via paper or online portal
- Follow policies and procedures to properly package and ship specimens
- Demonstrate customer service & compassion when interacting with patients, physicians, and clinic staff
- Communicate with, understand, and react effectively to a diverse patient population base
- Follow universal precautions and all OSHA standards when handling specimens
- Strictly adhere to HIPAA guidelines
- Inform Supervisor of daily tasks, unusual problems or deviations from established procedures
- Adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures of Sagis while working at the physician’s office
- Pick-up, package and ship the specimens when needed
