About The Position

The Specimen Collector follows specimen (urine, saliva, and/or blood) collections protocols for collections. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty to a satisfactory standard. Requirements

  • HS Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in Customer Service.
  • Be dependable and extremely well organized.
  • Strong work ethic, commitment to completing assigned tasks and dedicated to high-quality work.
  • Outstanding attention to detail, ability to multitask, and the ability to complete the job without errors.
  • Ability to work with patients in a professional and compassionate manner.
  • Be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to communicate well with the clinic's provider and laboratory management.
  • Ability to travel between four clinic locations as part of the regular weekly schedule.
  • Driver's License & Reliable Transportation (Required)
  • Must be able to reliably commute to all four locations listed above as scheduled (Required)

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all patient paperwork is filled out correctly and all necessary information has been captured at the time of collection.
  • Update and maintain patient information and records, as necessary, while ensuring patients complete privacy, observing HIPAA regulations into laboratory information systems.
  • Perform and follow specimen (urine, blood, and salvia) collection protocols for specimen collection.
  • Monitor and maintain supplies and supply records for all clinic needs. Communicate to lab any supply requests in a timely manner.
  • Securely and safely package specimens for pick up by the lab's courier service.
  • Follow general work protocols regarding breaks and cell phone usage during business hours.
  • Ability to work with patients in a professional and compassionate manner.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the clinic's provider and laboratory management.
  • Adherence to all clinic and OSHA standards/policies
  • Driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Dress in compliance with clinic needs.
