About The Position

LabCorp is seeking a Specimen Accessioner/Processor to join their team in Tulsa, OK. This role involves preparing laboratory specimens for analysis and testing, unpacking and routing specimens, accurately identifying and labeling them, packing and shipping them to proper testing facilities, and managing excess specimen samples. The position also requires data entry of patient information and resolution of problem specimens. The work schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, with a 2nd shift differential.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Comfortable handling biological specimens
• Ability to accurately identify specimens
• Experience working in a team environment
• Strong data entry and organizational skills
• High level of attention to detail
• Proficient in MS Office
• Ability to lift up to 40lbs
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

Nice To Haves

• 6 months experience or more in a lab or specimen processing
• 6 months years’ experience or more in a medical/clinical laboratory experience
• 6 months experience or more in the healthcare industry, such as a physician's office, clinic or hospital
• 6 months of experience or more in an assembly or manufacturing production environment

Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
• Unpack and route specimens to their respective staging areas
• Accurately identify and label specimens
• Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities
• Meet department activity and production goals
• Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples
• Data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Resolve and document any problem specimens
