About The Position

The Specialty Tech in Training – MRI role is an on-the-job training opportunity for imaging caregivers pursuing specialization in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). Under the guidance of experienced MRI technologists, the incumbent develops advanced MRI skills while performing high-quality imaging procedures and providing exceptional patient care. This role offers a structured pathway into MRI, combining real-world experience, mentorship, and professional development opportunities while supporting Intermountain Health's mission of providing high-quality patient care.

Requirements

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Currently enrolled in an accredited MRI training program, successful completion of an accredited MRI program, or ARRT(R)-registered technologist selected for MRI cross-training.
• Ability to meet MRI training and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform MRI exams according to department protocols.
• Verify patient identity, review orders, and prepare patients for procedures.
• Ensure MRI safety compliance and maintain a safe environment.
• Evaluate images for quality and diagnostic accuracy.
• Educate and support patients throughout the imaging process.
• Operate MRI equipment and related information systems.
• Maintain accurate documentation and patient records.
• Follow established protocols for quality control, documentation, coding, and equipment reporting.
• Collaborate with radiologists, providers, and fellow caregivers to achieve excellent patient outcomes.
