The Specialty Sales Team Leader role is part of a team of specialized consultants who understand how to meet guest needs and deliver for them through strong operations, incredible guest experience, and compelling visual merchandising presentations that inspire guests and build the basket. Teams in Apparel and Accessories (A&A), Home, Baby, Core Beauty, and Electronics prioritize guest experience while blending the completion of tasks that ensure product is available and easy to shop. This role provides meaningful experiences to help build and develop skills for a career, including guest service fundamentals, retail business fundamentals, planning department workload, and leading multiple businesses and teams. As a Specialty Sales Team Leader, no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will most likely include delivering guest experience commitments, ensuring team members understand and deliver on Target’s guest experience commitments and operations, observing and providing feedback, reviewing metrics to identify opportunities, and demonstrating a service culture that prioritizes the guest experience. The role involves planning daily/weekly workload, executing best practices, developing and coaching team members, assigning daily tasks, encouraging team to use available tools, partnering with third-party vendors, supporting merchandise set changes, creating inspiring visual presentations, supporting backroom processes, participating in hiring and onboarding, leading the team in prioritizing guest experience, establishing clear goals, and demonstrating a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance. The role also involves supporting merchandise protection strategies, assuming store-level leadership responsibilities as needed, addressing emergency and compliance needs, and supporting guest services like cashier backup, order pickup, and Drive-Up.
