About The Position

This role focuses on driving sales and enhancing the guest experience within the Style, Tech, or Beauty departments. The Specialty Sales Consultant is responsible for maintaining operational excellence, creating inspiring visual merchandising, and providing exceptional guest service. They are passionate about operations and delivering a guest-first culture, bringing style to life through compelling in-store presentations that encourage easy self-discovery. Consultants are expected to be welcoming and helpful, assisting guests on the sales floor and in fitting rooms, and ensuring the sales floor is well-stocked with accurately priced and signed merchandise in the correct sizes, styles, and colors. This role offers opportunities to develop skills in guest service, retail business fundamentals (sales trends, inventory management, guest shopping patterns, pricing, promotions, visual merchandising), and industry trends (style, seasonality, brand differentiation).

  • Frequently lift or move merchandise up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift or move merchandise and fixtures up to 44 pounds without assistance.
  • Reliable and prompt attendance.
  • Capable of working in and exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements.
  • Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift.

Responsibilities

  • Drive sales and maintain a guest-ready sales floor by executing visual standards, promotional signing, and staying knowledgeable about product assortment and brand offerings.
  • Leverage store tools to understand sales and inventory, and use this information to support guest needs.
  • Sort and push truck freight to the salesfloor, and locate merchandise in the backroom.
  • Set visual presentations and merchandising guides according to company standards.
  • Maintain product availability and a full sales floor by executing priority and manual fills, and merchandising to capacity.
  • Execute and maintain backroom organization, including locating merchandise for replenishment, fulfillment, and guest requests.
  • Remerchandise presentations as items sell through, following best practices to create an inspiring shopping experience.
  • Support price change processes, including clearance merchandising and signing execution.
  • Maintain and utilize fitting rooms to welcome, inspire, and help guests.
  • Support fulfillment and guest needs by processing fitting room returns and ensuring merchandise is returned to the salesfloor.
  • Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.
  • Work safely, comply with all safety policies and training, and report hazards.
  • Support guest services such as back-up cashier, order pickup (OPU), and Drive-Up (DU), adhering to compliance regulations.
  • Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests and engaging with them to solve their needs.
  • Thank guests and express appreciation for their choice to shop at Target.
