As a Medical Assistant, you will be an indispensable clinical partner, elevating patient care and optimizing physician efficiency through advanced support. Every day, you will expertly manage clinical documentation within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), accurately perform ancillary healthcare services, and execute specific physician instructions, ensuring precise and efficient patient visits. To be successful in this role, you will combine advanced clinical proficiency with exceptional attention to detail, a strong aptitude for electronic health records, and a proactive approach to supporting high-quality patient care. Will perform typical Medical Assistant duties such as preparing exam rooms, taking vital signs, maintaining proper inventory levels, accurately entering data in patient records and charts, accurately recording data in medicine logs, etc. Serve as clinic Navigator to an assigned Provider throughout the course of the Patient’s care in a high acuity environment. Perform specialty related functions in the clinic requiring knowledge and integration of standards of care, data management and independent judgment. Examples include but are not limited to: a) assistance with bone marrow biopsies, b) arranging for genetic testing and management of results, c) assistance with high level procedures (deep joint injections, ultrasounds, bone marrow aspirations, lumbar punctures and biopsies). Super user and able to efficiently and effectively navigate clinic’s assigned medical record system. Identify normal and abnormal symptomatology through high acuity environment experience. Report specific urgent symptoms to Provider STAT. Close communication loop on all urgent symptoms and critical lab results. Interface with the multidisciplinary clinical teams on a daily basis for example: pharmacy, chemotherapy, infusion nursing, hospital teams including OR and Imaging. To ensure successful scheduling of complication patient needs: (blood transfusions, hydration, ER admission, Hospital Admission, STAT Imaging/lab, Home/Health Hospice).

Requirements

  • 3 Year’s experience in high-acuity specialty setting for example: Pulmonology, Oncology & Hematology, Infusion, Maternal & Fetal Medicine, Neonatology, Gynecologic Oncology, Neurosurgery, Breast Surgery, Peds Cardiology.
  • Successful completion of a Medical Assistant Training Program.
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire.
