About The Position

Manages the nutrition care of critically ill patients as well of other patients who rely on artificial nutrition support (enteral and parenteral nutrition). Provides nutrition expertise to physicians and other health professionals. As a Dialysis Dietitian, you will: Participate in activities that encompasses interdisciplinary care including interdisciplinary rounds, Performance Improvement, provision of nutrition education in the area of nutrition support for the medical and support staff, patient, family. Incorporates information from nurses, physicians, pharmacists, and other ancillary staff to manage the nutrition care of complex patients. Thoroughly reads the medical record to be aware of all aspects of patient care. Appropriately assesses, plans, documents and communicates nutritional care and care plans following established standards and protocol. Provides education and/or counseling to patients and/or family as per assessed need, request or consult.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science Degree in Dietetics or Food & Nutrition from an accredited institution.
Certified in nutrition support (CNSC) by the American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (ASPEN).
Active registration status with American Dietetic Association.
Licensed, or in the process of becoming licensed, in the state of Maryland.
