About The Position

We are a busy, physician-owned Gastroenterology practice with 33 providers dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care. As our practice continues to grow, including the addition of new providers and expanded procedure capacity, we are seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Registered Nurse to join our Specialty Clinic team. This is a unique opportunity to provide specialized gastrointestinal care through infusion therapy, capsule endoscopy, breath testing, patient education, and care coordination. The Specialty Clinic Nurse is responsible for coordinating and providing specialized clinical services, including biologic infusion therapy, capsule endoscopy procedures, and gastrointestinal diagnostic testing. This role performs patient assessments, administers treatments, provides education, monitors patient outcomes, and collaborates with providers and staff to ensure safe, effective, and high-quality patient care.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Current unrestricted Nebraska RN license.
Current BLS/CPR certification.
Experience with electronic medical records (EMR).
Strong assessment, communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of patient care and attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

Two or more years of infusion therapy or clinical nursing experience.
Experience in gastroenterology, infusion services, ambulatory care, medical-surgical nursing, or specialty practice settings.
Experience administering intravenous medications and monitoring infusion patients.
ACLS certification.
Knowledge of gastrointestinal conditions, biologic therapies, and infusion treatment protocols.

Responsibilities

Administer and monitor biologic infusion therapies in accordance with provider orders and established clinical protocols.
Perform pre-treatment assessments, review medical histories, medications, laboratory results, and patient eligibility requirements.
Educate patients regarding infusion therapies, treatment plans, potential side effects, and follow-up care.
Monitor for adverse reactions and respond appropriately to infusion-related emergencies.
Coordinate insurance authorization requirements and collaborate with prior authorization and billing teams.
Coordinate and perform capsule endoscopy procedures, including patient education and follow-up activities.
Perform and assist with breath testing procedures, including SIBO, lactose intolerance, and fructose intolerance testing.
Provide patient education regarding gastrointestinal diseases, medications, and treatment plans.
Collaborate with providers, nursing staff, and other departments to coordinate care and optimize patient outcomes.
Maintain accurate documentation, patient confidentiality, and compliance with organizational, safety, and infection prevention standards.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives, staff meetings, and continuing education opportunities.
