About The Position

Executes the day-to-day workflow and operations of a medical clinic. Serves one clinic unit and acts as an extension of management. Assists with responsibilities for greater than two Full Time Employees (FTEs). Spends one half, or greater, of time performing coordination/management functions, and one half, or less, time in a staff role, i.e., reception, managed care or Medical Assistant (MA) roles. Maintains responsibility for regional coordination of care for patients in sister Ministry clinics. Coordinates small program(s) with limited budget/impact. This position is represented by RCHEA.

Requirements

  • High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
  • Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
  • Five years' relevant experience: Preferred
  • Medical Assistant (MA) certification: Preferred
  • American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) certification: Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Works collaboratively and maintains active communication with physicians, nursing and other members of the multi-disciplinary care team to affect timely, appropriate patient management.
  • Utilizes advanced conflict resolution skills, as necessary, to ensure timely resolution of issues.
  • Applies substantial knowledge and experience to perform a wide range of advanced activities and/or determines how to use resources to meet schedules and goals.
  • Serves as working supervisor for team or work group.
  • Participates in program evaluation and quality improvement activities.
  • Fills the role of surgery scheduler, working with other hospital departments to ensure a positive patient experience with patient testing, diagnostics and procedures.
  • Coordinates with the Operating Room (OR) for visitor surgery observations.
  • Provides guidance to staff within the latitude of established work area and policies.
  • Coordinates and monitors patient flow and staff activities to ensure prompt, courteous and accurate responses to patients.
  • Ensures effective clinic organization through planning, leading, controlling and organizing clinic activities.
  • Provides day-to-day process and people management.
  • Works with sensitive and confidential information, often involving the interpretation of policies/procedures to guide use.
  • Supports management in completion of credentialing, including license renewal.
  • Performs travel and meeting coordination.
  • Participates in the preparation of the department budget.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
