About The Position

The Specialty Account Specialist (Immunology) position is a field-based role covering the greater Pittsburgh, PA area and surrounding areas. The primary focus is to provide scientific knowledge, business acumen, and customer engagement expertise to specialist customers in support of a GSK biologic product. This involves understanding the reimbursement and distribution landscape, identifying appropriate resources for customer support, and maintaining deep therapeutic knowledge of Immunology disease states, including rheumatologic and nephrology conditions. The role also includes developing strategies to generate sales, implementing customer-specific tactics, and building strong relationships with internal GSK teams. Outstanding customer service is a key aspect of this position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Ability to travel domestically as necessary, which in some territories may include overnight travel up to 20%
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Must be able and willing to drive or operate a vehicle – driving is an essential function of this role

Nice To Haves

  • Specialty Products that utilize the Buy & Bill or Specialty pharmacy modes of distribution
  • Expertise in working with Payer Reimbursement Managers
  • Experience calling on Rheumatologists and other specialty healthcare providers preferred
  • Demonstrated success selling within rheumatology, immunology, or nephrology therapeutic areas strongly preferred
  • Experience working within large integrated health systems and IDNs preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide Scientific Knowledge, Business Acumen, and Customer Engagement expertise to specialist customers in support of a GSK biologic product.
  • Understand the reimbursement/distribution landscape for specialist customers and identify the appropriate resources (e.g. Payer Relations Managers, HUB, headquarter approved materials) to refer customers to appropriate resource for reimbursement and distribution choices, always working within GSK guidelines and values.
  • Maintain deep therapeutic knowledge of Immunology disease states, including rheumatologic and nephrology conditions, and translate clinical insights into meaningful customer engagements.
  • Provide product educational programs/in-services to customers.
  • Work within Compliance guidelines and GSK values always.
  • Develop strategies and tactics to generate sales.
  • Develop and implement strategies specific to each customer within an account (i.e. nurses, mid-levels, business/office managers).
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Marketing, Payer Relations Managers (Market Access), Medical (MSLs), and other functions within GSK.
  • Effectively manage allocated resources.
  • Provide outstanding customer service by responding to our customers' requests, inquiries and needs.
