About The Position
This position is for an aide for a student in a specialized program. The role requires specific educational qualifications, certifications, and experience working with children, particularly in special education settings. Applicants must provide required documentation at the time of application, including transcripts, CPR/AED certification, and evidence of training and experience. Out-of-district applicants must also provide detailed employment history.
Requirements
- High school graduation or other equivalent (General Educational Development [GED], foreign equivalency, etc.).
- Minimum of 48 credits from an accredited college or university or a passing score on the Educational Testing Service (ETS) ParaPro assessment.
- Experience working with children.
- Current CPR/AED certificate from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or a similar organization. Certification must be maintained for duration of assignment. Certification training must be in-person and include a hands-on component. Online courses will not be accepted. A copy of the front and back of the CPR/AED certificate must be uploaded into the application.
Nice To Haves
- Signing abilities (for the hearing-impaired program).
- One (1) year of experience working with special education children.
