About The Position

This position is for the 2026-2027 SY; Start date: 8/5/2026. The Teacher Assistant III in Specialized Programs assists a certificated teacher in providing instruction and supervision to students with special needs. This role involves supporting the teacher in implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), managing classroom behavior, and ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment. The assistant will work with students individually or in small groups, help with daily living skills, and assist with physical needs as required. This position requires a high degree of patience, empathy, and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other support staff.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Associate's degree or 60 college credits.
Passage of the ParaPro Assessment or equivalent.
Experience working with students with special needs.
Ability to assist with physical needs of students.
Proficiency in basic computer skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in a specialized programs classroom.
Bilingual skills (English/Spanish).
