About The Position
This position is for an aide for a student in the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE) program, providing one-on-one assistance. The role is for 9 months per year, with 7 hours per day.
Requirements
- High school graduation or other equivalent (General Educational Development [GED], foreign equivalency, etc.).
- Minimum of 48 credits from an accredited college or university or a passing score on the Educational Testing Service (ETS) ParaPro assessment.
- Experience working with children.
- Current CPR/AED certificate from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or a similar organization. Certification must be maintained for duration of assignment. Certification training must be in-person and include a hands-on component. Online courses will not be accepted.
Nice To Haves
- Signing abilities (for the hearing-impaired program).
- One (1) year of experience working with special education children.
