About the Role Wall Maintenance Specialists are responsible for the cleaning of the climbing walls at Bouldering Project. Individuals in this position will regularly work one to three times per week and occasionally in preparation for events. Wall Maintenance Specialists are responsible for working safely and efficiently to prepare the climbing areas for routesetting rotations. They will also maintain in good condition all wall sections in the climbing area, as well as wash and sort climbing holds and volumes.
Requirements
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Reliable, self-directed, and able to work with minimal supervision
- Working with power tools
- Climbing ladders and comfort working at heights
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to stand, walk, and move continuously for extended periods
- Frequent bending, kneeling, stooping, and reaching
- Ability to climb ladders and step stools
Responsibilities
- Remove modular climbing holds, volumes, tape, chalk, rubber, and detritus from climbing walls.
- Safely use approved cleaning products and procedures to wash climbing surfaces, holds and volumes
- Maintain clean and functioning climbing walls.
- Wash and organize holds following directions of Assistant Head Setter and Head Setter
- Organize and maintain Setting and Wall Maintenance supplies and tools
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the Setting Shop
- Follow closing/facility procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
