About The Position
Westcoast Animal Veterinary Emergency Specialty Hospital (WAVES), part of the VetStrategy group, is seeking a Board-Certified Veterinary Criticalist to join their multi-specialty hospital in Victoria, British Columbia. WAVES offers 24/7 emergency and specialty care, including boarded specialists in surgery, neurology, internal medicine, diagnostic imaging, and access to a cardiologist. The hospital is equipped with advanced technology such as in-house lab, dedicated ICU, digital radiology, ultrasound, MRI, CT, endoscopy, and fluoroscopy. This role is ideal for a criticalist committed to serving animals requiring critical care and offers opportunities for career development within a collaborative environment.
Requirements
- Board-certified with the DACVECC or DECVECC.
- A collaborative approach to patient care.
- Dedicated to promoting team-based medicine practices.
- A passion for coaching, mentoring, and supporting staff and colleagues.
- Enthusiasm, energy and a positive attitude.
- A strong desire to educate and build solid relationships with clients.
- Excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide critical care to animals requiring specialized attention.
- Collaborate with a team of specialists and staff.
- Coach, mentor, and support staff and colleagues.
- Educate clients and build strong relationships.
- Participate in teaching and providing CE to the VetStrategy network.
- Support continuing research initiatives.
- Give back to the community through VetStrategy initiatives.
