This is a unionized position that falls within the IT Operations Division in the Information & Technology Services Business Unit. The energy sector is rapidly evolving, offering exciting new opportunities for those who want to make a difference. Provide a design, installation, check into service and technical support function for IESO network and telecommunication infrastructure including the interfaces with market participants both at IESO Control Centres and supporting field locations. Respond to system or equipment malfunctions of installed facilities and troubleshoot, isolate and resolve these problems within the required guidelines. Provide an evolution leadership as it relates to the maintenance, planning, enhancements and upgrade of installed facilities. TELECOMMUNICATIONS FACILITIES consist of data/voice communications networks supporting the following areas: collect and provide field data and control functions for power system operation, Market Participant Networks, Market Services, settlement services, call centre and office telephone systems. COMPUTER NETWORK FACILITIES are tightly integrated and linked with other IESO and non-IESO facilities, consist of a complex network of routers, switches, servers, gateways, firewalls/ security devices and office WAN links. This infrastructure uses a number of platforms and protocols (Switches, Routers, Load Balancers, VPN, Wi-Fi, Web Proxy, Intrusion Prevention and Detection System, Advance Malware, Linux, Ethernet, TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, DNP3, ICCP, MPLS, VoIP, SIP, PRI, Network Performance Monitoring and Diagnostics and orchestration scripting)
