Specialist, Systems Engineering (Space Operations Astrodynamics)
About The Position
L3Harris Technologies is hiring an Astrodynamics Engineer to support an important national security program within the Space Superiority Business in the Space Systems sector. The role supports a high-performing team of Government and Contractor professionals working on the Space Warfighting Mission. The successful candidate will monitor, analyze, and assess mission status, courses of action, and anomalies, and deliver decision-support information to senior decision makers. The position also supports implementation of national policies and development of technical assessments for policy decisions. Candidates should be able to work in a dynamic environment where tasking and priorities change frequently. This role is full time and onsite at Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado, on a Monday–Friday 5/8 schedule.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and at least 4 years of relevant experience; or a graduate degree and at least 2 years of related experience; or, in lieu of a degree, at least 8 years of related experience.
- Active Top Secret SCI clearance with CI Poly required.
- Experience with space operations, COA and TTP execution, and the Space Warfighting mission.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic, high-energy environment with changing tasking and priorities.
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with basic orbital mechanics.
- Familiarity with DoD/NRO spacecraft and missions.
- Experience using astrodynamics tools such as STK, GMAT, and ODTK.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Effective communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
- Maintain awareness of threats to space operations and high-interest events.
- Operate and perform analysis in STK and other commercial and government-developed tools.
- Generate, share, and present briefings and products for senior leadership and enterprise awareness.
- Support onboarding of new and enhanced tools.
- Create, coordinate, and release operational messages.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
