Specialist Systems Engineer

About The Position

The Specialist Systems Engineer works as part of a development team in the Systems Engineering department, supporting requirement development, design and architecture generation, testing, integration, and certification of complex systems installed on airborne platforms. The role designs and develops physical architectures that incorporate mission-system equipment into airborne systems for military and commercial customers. Because systems vary across programs, the engineer must quickly learn and integrate new systems and have a baseline understanding of electrical and mechanical systems. The position translates customer and airworthiness requirements into unique, verifiable system-level requirements; leads cross-disciplinary Program Integrated Product Teams; serves as a technical focal point for customer discussions; and contributes to requirements traceability, trade studies, subsystem specifications, and preliminary system design. The engineer also prepares presentations for technical and non-technical audiences and uses standard Microsoft Office applications and a Product Lifecycle Manager (PLM), with TeamCenter preferred. This is an on-site position in Waco, Texas, with a 9/80 schedule on the first shift and every other Friday off.
