About The Position

The Specialist Systems Engineer works as part of a Systems Engineering development team supporting requirement development, design and architecture generation, testing, integration, and certification of complex systems installed on airborne platforms. The role designs and develops physical architectures that integrate mission-system equipment into airborne systems for military and commercial customers. Because systems vary by program, the engineer must be able to learn and integrate new systems quickly, drawing on an understanding of electrical and mechanical systems. The position translates customer and airworthiness requirements into verifiable system-level requirements, leads cross-disciplinary Program Integrated Product Teams, and serves as a technical point of contact for customers. It also involves defining requirements traceability, evaluating trade studies, writing subsystem specifications, establishing preliminary system designs, and presenting technical information to technical and non-technical audiences. The job is on-site in Waco, Texas, on a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off and a first-shift schedule.
