About The Position

Entegris is seeking a full-time Specialist, Production Planner to support daily manufacturing operations at our Aurora, IL. This position is an onsite position supporting 24/5 and weekend operation. The Production Planner is responsible for developing and managing executable production plans that align customer demand, inventory requirements, material availability, manufacturing capacity, and operational priorities. This position serves as a critical link between Supply Chain Planning and Manufacturing, ensuring production schedules are achievable, priorities are clearly communicated, and potential constraints are shown and addressed before they impact customer delivery. The Production Planner will play a key role in improving On-Time Delivery, production schedule adherence, capacity utilization, inventory performance, and overall manufacturing execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 3+ years of experience in production planning, supply planning, manufacturing planning, or a related role.
  • Manufacturing environment experience required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems. Preferably SAP
  • Advanced Excel/data-analysis capabilities.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across functional boundaries.

Nice To Haves

  • Power BI or other data-visualization experience, preferred.
  • Capacity planning and constraint-management experience, preferred.
  • Experience in discrete, batch, or complex manufacturing, preferred.
  • Experience working with MPS/MRP modules, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain production schedules for assigned manufacturing lines and work centers.
  • Translate customer demand and supply requirements into executable production plans.
  • Create, release, and maintain production orders within the ERP/MRP system.
  • Balance demand, inventory, capacity, labor, materials, and manufacturing constraints.
  • Sequence production to optimize available capacity and minimize unnecessary changeovers.
  • Maintain appropriate planning horizons and ensure production priorities are clearly communicated.
  • Re-plan production as demand, capacity, material availability, or operational priorities change.
  • Monitor daily production performance against the established schedule.
  • Show production orders at risk of missing planned completion or customer commitment dates.
  • Partner with Production leadership to develop recovery plans for missed or at-risk orders.
  • Monitor and improve production schedule adherence.
  • Analyze causes of schedule misses, delays, and production interruptions.
  • Escalate significant risks and constraints with clear recommendations and recovery actions.
  • Partner with Procurement and Material Planning to ensure material availability supports the production plan.
  • Identify material shortages and communicate their potential impact on production and customer commitments.
  • Prioritize production based on material availability, customer requirements, inventory position, and business priorities.
  • Support efforts to minimize shortages, excess inventory, and unnecessary production.
  • Align production plans with customer requested dates and committed ship dates.
  • Show orders at risk of becoming past due and proactively communicate potential impacts.
  • Partner with Customer Service and Sales when customer priorities or requirements change.
  • Support initiatives designed to improve customer service and On-Time Delivery.
  • Develop strong working relationships with Production, Procurement, Quality, Engineering, Warehouse, Customer Service, Sales, and Supply Chain.
  • Participate in daily production and supply chain meetings.
  • Communicate production priorities, constraints, shortages, and recovery plans.
  • Drive alignment between the production schedule and operational execution.
  • Monitor key planning and manufacturing performance indicators.
  • Develop and maintain reports supporting production planning and decision-making.
  • Identify trends and opportunities to improve planning effectiveness.
  • Support initiatives to improve schedule adherence, OTD, inventory, capacity utilization, and schedule stability.
  • Improve planning processes, ERP/MRP parameters, data accuracy, and standard work.
  • Participate in Lean, continuous improvement, and process optimization initiatives.
