As a Supplier Quality and Standard Specialist, you will ensure that approved suppliers, materials, specifications, and testing requirements meet regulatory requirements, company quality standards, and product quality expectations.
Requirements
- BA/BS in Science or related with at least 5 years nutritional and/or related industry in a quality management role or an advanced degree with +2 year of experience
- Ability to interpret technical documents, specifications, regulatory requirements, and supplier certifications to support quality and compliance decisions.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Experience working in a fast-paced work environment
- Any combination of experience, education, and training that provides the level of knowledge, skills, and experience needed to successfully perform the job.
Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain the Approved Supplier List (ASL).
- Manage supplier qualification and approval programs, including supplier onboarding, risk assessment, supplier questionnaire evaluation, on-site supplier audits, and review of supplier qualification documents (e.g., certifications, regulatory statements, specifications, and other required records).
- Ensure compliance with applicable Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP) requirements for overseas suppliers.
- Monitor supplier quality performance, investigate supplier-related quality issues, and coordinate corrective actions with suppliers to ensure timely resolution.
- Manage supplier communications regarding material quality issues, nonconforming materials, supplier change notifications, and continuous quality improvement
- Review and approve raw material, packaging material, and finished product specifications to ensure compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
- Assess the quality and regulatory impact of new raw materials and package materials, supplier changes, formulation changes, and specification revisions.
- Maintain current knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements and industry standards related to supplier quality and material specifications.
- Complies with all Company policies and procedures, including safety rules and regulations.
- Maintains a safe work environment and operates in a safe manner.
- Perform other related job duties related to the job, as assigned by management.
