About The Position

We are seeking a Board Support Package (BSP) software engineer with experience in embedded real-time software development. This position supports existing and next-generation military communications software while working close to hardware, drivers, boot code, RTOS, interfaces, and platform integration. An engineer in this position is responsible for creating designs, adding features to current designs, and developing operating system configurations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience.
• Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
• In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
• Minimum of 4 years embedded software engineering experience
• Experience debugging hardware
• Experience with Linux kernel/device drivers
• Experience or familiarity in PetaLinux
• Experience or familiarity in Yocto
• Experience or familiarity in VxWorks
• Experience or familiarity in Buildroot
• Experience or familiarity in jffs2, UBI, and ubifs
• Experience or familiarity in Busybox
• Experience or familiarity in Board bring-up / JTAG
• DoD SECRET security clearance or be qualified to obtain one

Nice To Haves

• C++ experience
• Familiarity with code revision management tools such as BitBucket

Responsibilities

• Configuring and patching U-boot and Linux for an embedded system
• Configuring the root file system for an embedded system
• Configuring Linux device trees
• Linux boot process on an embedded system
• BASH scripting
• Design and implement software for embedded devices from requirements to production using C and C++ in a cross compiled environment
• Third party and open source software license documentation
