Specialist Software Engineering BUILD Program
About The Position
The Acuity Inc. BUILD program is a two-year rotational experience for early-career talent. Participants rotate to a different functional area every six months, gaining hands-on experience, business acumen, and skill proficiency. The program is intended to develop broad business understanding, functional expertise, and professional skills for future career opportunities at Acuity. Participants are expected to take an active role in their development and contribute in a fast-paced environment while demonstrating learning agility, communication, ownership, critical thinking, and openness to feedback. Software Engineering Specialists rotate among functional areas based on individual interests and current business needs. Areas may include front-end, back-end, and embedded software development; DevOps and site reliability engineering; cloud software; and software quality assurance or test automation. The program includes specialized onboarding, one-on-one mentorship from a Software Engineering leader during and beyond the program, social and networking events, collaboration with program peers, and leadership report-out meetings to share rotational learnings and review performance. The position starts July 12, 2027, and works hybrid from the United States. Travel of up to 20% may be required based on business needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science or a related degree.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and time-management skills.
- Availability to travel based on business needs, up to 20%.

Responsibilities
