Responsibilities include scheduling appointments, interviewing patients for appropriate medical information, explaining departmental and hospital policies, validating and entering charges into appropriate systems, collecting payments, and answering incoming calls while directing patients and visitors appropriately. Within 3-6 months, success looks like proficiency in Cerner, effective patient communication, demonstrating initiative, and adhering to policies and procedures. By 12 months, the individual should be fully independent in all role responsibilities.
