About The Position

Join the Housing Policy and Program team, in the Specialist, Quantitative Analysis position. In this role, you will lead the development, implementation, calibration, documentation and maintenance of complex quantitative analyses and drive insights discovery through the right combination of quantitative techniques, analytical expertise and use of a variety of technologies while ensuring integrity and accuracy of data. You will deliver results through appropriate channels and make adjustments based on the audience.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in credit risk management, financial analysis, and portfolio monitoring.
  • An understanding of financial risk, especially credit risk, and a desire to grow your skills in data analysis and reporting.
  • An understanding of mortgage-secured lending, the Canadian construction market, housing economics, and macro indicators, with the ability to relate these to portfolio-level lending risk.
  • Some experience in loan performance analysis, financial reporting, or data visualization.
  • Strong communication skills to share findings with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Attention to detail and a willingness to learn quality control and documentation practices.

Nice To Haves

  • Hold or be actively pursuing a professional designation, such as the CFA or FRM.
  • Demonstrated experience or strong interest in data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau), along with familiarity with data tools and programming languages such as Python, SQL, R, or SAS.
  • Exposure to financial institutions or regulatory environments is a strong asset.
  • Interest in credit risk initiatives or transformation projects, with a mindset geared toward innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Curiosity about advanced analytics, including areas like machine learning, time series analysis, or natural language processing.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor credit risk across portfolios and support stress testing to assess resilience under adverse conditions.
  • Identify opportunities to automate risk reporting for faster, more actionable insights.
  • Analyze credit and financial data to uncover trends, early warning signals, and forward-looking risk indicators.
  • Create clear, compelling reports and visualizations to communicate findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to explore and integrate new data sources that strengthen portfolio risk analysis.
  • Track macroeconomic and regulatory developments that may impact credit and market risk.
  • Contribute to sector risk profiling and quarterly risk reporting.
  • Partner with the CRO, Treasury, Finance, and business units to ensure a coordinated and proactive approach to managing financial and credit risks, while operating effectively within a Three Lines of Defence (3LoD) governance model to promote clear accountability and risk ownership across functions.
