About The Position

Join the Quality and Regulatory Compliance team in Hershey, Pennsylvania, and help strengthen the food quality and safety systems behind products enjoyed around the world. As an established subject matter expert, you will own recurring quality and food safety processes within an assigned testing, plant, line, or product area. You will coordinate verification and monitoring activities, interpret trends, communicate findings, and recommend practical improvements that support consistency, incident prevention, compliance, service, and cost objectives.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of relevant experience in the food industry implementing quality and food safety programs.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Food Science, or a related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of food industry regulations and quality systems, including FSMA, HACCP, Good Manufacturing Practices, and related food safety programs.
  • Strong communication, presentation, auditing, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to varied audiences.
  • Understanding of production or manufacturing environments and proficiency with relevant data, reporting, and business software.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and travel at least 25%, with additional travel during focused projects.

Nice To Haves

  • HACCP, SQF, and PCQI certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead recurring QA and testing processes: Design schedules and coordinate QA checks and testing activities; perform complex analytical or microbiological testing and guide others on routine work.
  • Coordinate product and process verification: Own sampling plans, specification checks, sensory evaluations, and basic stability or shelf-life monitoring; consolidate results and recommend targeted adjustments.
  • Monitor food safety programs: Plan and execute sanitation verification, hygiene audits, allergen control checks, and environmental monitoring; identify emerging risks and support hazard analysis and follow-up verification.
  • Support incident investigations: Define data needs, analyze results and historical trends, summarize findings, recommend local corrective improvements, and confirm actions are effective.
  • Maintain documentation and share insights: Keep QA, food safety, and laboratory records complete and accurate; prepare reports or dashboards that support cross-functional continuous improvement.
  • Support projects and compliance: Represent QA on projects and new product or manufacturing-line activities, develop specifications and compliance documentation, and partner with manufacturing and other functions on corrective and preventive action plans.
