About The Position

The Material Program Manager (MPM) position will function as the point-of-contract between the Program Office, Functional Management, the Customer, supplier relationships, and other stakeholders to coordinate efforts to ensure successful resolutions of program issues. This role involves managing the material budget for assigned programs, providing accurate material forecasts, and conducting comprehensive business analysis of program material requirements, including managing the impact on program Estimates at Completion (EACs) for all material-related actions. The MPM will collaborate with various teams to define task requirements, establish budgets and schedules, determine performance metrics, clarify priorities, and implement management plans. Responsibilities include interacting with Engineering, Planning, Procurement, and Manufacturing to ensure timely drawing releases and schedule adherence. The role also involves reviewing proposals and Statements of Work (SOW), establishing metrics, supporting Make-Buy decisions, managing purchase orders, verifying deliveries, resolving supplier issues, approving payments, and maintaining records of material movement. The MPM will utilize program management tools to monitor and report program performance and lead/participate in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to ensure successful program execution and cost reduction. Proposal support, including estimating MPM labor and material efforts, is also a key function.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar technical MPM or equivalent leadership capacity.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated experience in Commercial and Military Aviation/Aerospace products development and production is highly desired.
  • Demonstrated experience with SAP and material processes strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the material budget for assigned program.
  • Provide accurate material forecast.
  • Assist in providing comprehensive business analysis of program material requirements.
  • Manage impact to program EAC's for all material related actions.
  • Work collaboratively with Program Office and Functional Management, as well as other stakeholders, to define and assign task requirements.
  • Estimate and establish budget and schedules.
  • Determine appropriate performance metrics.

  • Develop and implement specific management plans to support the program.
  • Interact with Engineering / Engineering design reviews, Planning, Procurement and Manufacturing personnel to ensure appropriate drawings are released and program schedules are achieved.
  • Assist in reviewing proposals & Statements of Work (SOW) to establish status metrics and reporting methods that assists with Make buy decisions.
  • Follow up on open purchase orders, verify delivery, participate in resolving supplier issues, approve payment, and maintain necessary records of material movement throughout manufacturing and inventory cycle(s).
  • Utilize program management tools to monitor and report program performance to objectives (including budget, schedule, and other management requirements).
  • Facilitate project coordination and decision-making.
  • Lead/participate in Integrated Product Teams to assure successful program execution and drive non-value added costs out of the program.
  • Provide proposal support to include estimating the scope of MPM labor and material efforts.
