About The Position

L3Harris is seeking a Program Finance Specialist in the Space Superiority & Imaging (SS&I) Division. This position is responsible for directing financial control of large and/or complex Internal Research & Development (IRAD) programs. Works as a key business partner to Engineering functional teams to establish and maintain the program’s financial plan, performance analyses, and report generation to ensure that programs are within internally approved spend parameters. This individual will work in a fast-paced environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and a collaborative team setting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the financial plan for assigned IRAD programs, including performing earned-value analysis and preparing internal customer reports
  • Collaborate with the functional engineering department as the primary source of all financial information for all assigned IRAD programs.
  • Prepare weekly spend reporting, monthly program review materials, monthly forecasts for estimate to complete (ETCs), and overall estimate at complete (EACs) when reviewing spend to date
  • Serve as the financial expert for IRAD programs, alerting management to potential issues, identifying risks, and proposing solutions
  • Prepare accurate and complete variance analyses with explanations and corrective actions as needed.
  • Prepare and update IRAD financial business cases (FBCs) on an annual basis and as required to review return on investments with engineering and to leverage for internal approvals required on gate spend
  • Collaborate with PFA peers also engaged in IRAD programs to identify opportunities to streamline reporting and increase value proposition to engineering functional
  • Provide supplemental financial support of external customer programs as required
