About The Position

The primary purpose of this position is to support the practice division in procedures and processes related to managed vision care operations.

Requirements

  • High School or GED
  • Experience in the managed vision care space
  • Vision Plan billing or plan design implementation experience
  • Ability to understand insurance terminology & concepts to interpret plan requirements
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills to speak with internal & external customers
  • Basic PC skills to include MS Office, Windows, Word, and Excel
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a team environment, functioning for the good of the team over the individual

Responsibilities

  • Assists MVC Director in constant monitoring of vision and health plan provider manuals, plan provider training materials, and general processes and procedures in order to continue compliance with vision plans and keep up with the ever-changing scope of plan processes
  • Insurance Manual and Training Materials – Maintains existing plan documents by keeping materials updated with new information as insurance plans change
  • Insurance Manual and Training Materials – Creates new insurance manual documents and training materials for all new plans
  • Maintains insurance eligibility password lists and provides support to retail offices in the resetting and recovering insurance eligibility passwords
  • Assists MVC Director in researching new insurance plans to determine best practices, procedures, and development of training for retail division
  • Assists in overall POS plan builds and fee schedule maintenance by entering new plan designs in Acuity Logic, as well as testing existing and new plan builds for accuracy and compliance
  • Provides daily overall support and service to retail division to assist them with managed vision care questions and processes
  • Assists in the development & maintenance of professional, responsive relationships with brokers, employers and managed care providers and payors
  • Encourages & makes recommendations for efficiencies, processes, etc. which will deliver either quality, cost savings, and / or profitability improvements across the organization
  • Cross-trains and provides back up to the credentialing process for all internal doctors and managed care plans
