About The Position

This role is responsible for ensuring production schedules are met on time while maintaining regulatory compliance with all federal, state, and local ESOH regulations. The Specialist will establish strong team member relations, provide support for people development, coaching, and mentoring with a focus on teamwork and inclusion. They will work closely with advisors from Mazda and Toyota, and cross-functionally with manufacturing and internal logistics to ensure on-time delivery of parts to production. The role involves daily monitoring of component parts flow, adjusting inventory levels, identifying and acting on supply chain abnormalities, expediting parts and returnable packaging, managing supply chain crises, and leading problem-solving efforts. Additionally, the Specialist will support new model launches, shutdown coordination, annual business plans, and change point management impacting production systems. The position requires the ability to work a 2nd shift schedule and perform other related duties as assigned, including availability outside normal work hours for weekends, holidays, shutdowns, and travel.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
Basic knowledge of production systems
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Analytical thinking, with the ability to identify gaps, root cause analysis and countermeasure implementation
Developing project strategies, problem-solving and countermeasures
Demonstrated understanding of data analysis and visualizations
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of Products

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's Degree (or Higher) in Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Business Management, Information Technology, or a related field
2+ years’ Production Control experience within a high-volume production environment, preferably in automotive manufacturing
Project management experience with capability to develop, lead and prioritize work, meet milestones, gain consensus, and report out status of projects
Experience leading complex projects/teams
CTPATT or other trade compliance training/certification
Brings a unique blend of data management, automation, and reporting expertise, utilizing SQL and Microsoft Power Platform tools to create innovative solutions that reduce manual effort and support strategic business objectives

Responsibilities

Establish strong team member relations, at all levels and provide support for people development, coaching, and mentoring with a focus on teamwork and inclusion
Work closely with advisors from Mazda and Toyota
Work cross-functionally with manufacturing and internal logistics conveyance areas to ensure on-time delivery of parts to production
Monitor and evaluate domestic and international supplier performance
Daily monitoring of component parts flow and adjusting inventory levels to achieve appropriate inventory levels on the Shop floor, identifying and acting on abnormalities within the supply chain (North American and Overseas)
Expedite setting and tracking of Parts and Returnable packaging
Managed supply chain crises and coordinated with internal and external stakeholders, including 3PL operations, raw material suppliers, and general stores
Lead problem solving efforts to countermeasure and mitigate impact of abnormal supply chain conditions
Support new model launches and shutdown coordination activities
Contribute to and support annual business plans and strategies to support Mazda Toyota Manufacturing priorities
Support change point management activities impacting production and production systems
Performs other related duties as assigned by the department
Be available to work outside of normal work schedule, including but not limited to weekends, holidays, shutdowns, and travel as needed (domestically and internationally)
