About The Position

The AAO is looking for a creative and talented full-time Multimedia Specialist to join our acclaimed Marketing & Communications team. The Multimedia Specialist will work closely with the Creative Director and other departments to create highly professional and compelling video content, multimedia creative assets, and other creative executions for consumer and member marketing programs. The ideal candidate must have proven expertise in modern visual communication and thrive within a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Requirements

Bachelors degree, preferably with a focus in communications or multimedia
3+ years of multimedia production, graphic design, and video development and editing.
3+ years experience with digital and broadcast-quality video shooting, scheduling, scripting, lighting, audio, and editing techniques
Required proficiency In: Adobe Creative Suite including Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Lightroom and Illustrator.
Experience and proficiency with photo and video editing products
Experience with print layout and production
Project Management experience working with clients, adhering to project management plans/schedules/budgets, and maintaining excellent client communication
Proven track record in producing content for various platforms and multi-channel content distribution
Self-motivated with the ability to initiate, multitask and complete multiple projects in a fast-paced setting
Excellent project management skills and the ability to deliver projects on time
Knowledgeable on IAB digital ad units, social media specifications, and print production terminology
Strong working knowledge of professional digital photo and video equipment
Proficient understanding of branding, social media platforms, digital marketing, and strategic communications
Ability to follow creative direction and to maintain a professional demeanor in the face of conflicting requirements from various internal customers collaborating on the same work product, and in the face of constructive feedback.
Ability to convey inquiries and explanations completely, concisely, and in a professional manner in both written and verbal communications (i.e., Email or face-to-face conversations).
Possesses strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Work independently with little direction
Microsoft Office Suite (Word/PowerPoint/Excel)

Nice To Haves

Preferred proficiency in: After Effects and InDesign.
Experience with managing third-party vendor relationships, such as printers, preferred
WordPress experience a plus

Responsibilities

Working with the Creative Director, shoot, edit and publish video content to be utilized on a variety of digital platforms.
Assist in the production and post-production of projects and on-site events
Provide project management expertise to deliver projects in scope and on time
Responsible for staying up to date with the latest media techniques, web trends and production technologies, while maintaining and upgrading technical skills and capabilities
Working with internal customers, helping to conceptualize and develop creative campaigns enlisting multimedia content and multiple communication channels, particularly related to web and social media for use at the AAO's annual meetings as well as for other association projects.
Working with the PR/Communications Manager, develop creative social media posts with the ability to work ahead
Layout and design of association publication
Creative asset file management and footage transfer for post-production
Create computer animations, infographics, and other media that can be shared via digital channels.
Create slide shows and other multimedia.
