About The Position

If so, we want to hear from you! MSS ensures that all the mass spectrometers, liquid chromatographs, and other related bioanalytical instruments/ equipment are in good working order. The process is vital to the operational success of GBA and of preclinical, nonclinical, and clinical trials around the world.  In this role, you will repair, troubleshoot, maintain, and install bioanalytical equipment with minimum supervision, maintain a clean/safe lab, and ensure the smooth operation of the facility. 

The LC-MS group’s expertise lies in the quantitation of small molecules, oligonucleotides, peptides, proteins, and metabolite biomarkers by various mass spectrometric (LC-MS/MS, LC‑HRMS, hybrid/immunoaffinity mass spec), and hybridization-LC-fluorescence techniques. We have been pivotal in supporting most of the HIV drugs, most of the HBV/HCV drugs, one of the first 3 ADCs, and 6 of the last 9 gene therapy products approved by FDA.”

Requirements

• High School or GED plus  ≥6 years relevant industry experience, OR
• AA/BS degree in electronics technology or medical technology
• Experience with UHPLC equipment required
• Familiarity with the optics of LC-MS/MS and other analytical equipment

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Shimadzu UHPLC is a plus
• A background or education in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacology, is considered added value
• Mass Spectrometer experience a plus

Responsibilities

• Understand, evaluate, troubleshoot, and fix LC-MS/MS systems and other associated bioanalytical equipment problems.
• Perform planned preventive maintenance, calibration, and regular maintenance of the LC/MS/MS, LC, LC-UV/FLD, and other associated bioanalytical equipment.
• Perform validations on equipment.
• Order, replenish consumables, and maintain inventory of spare parts for LC and MS systems.
