About The Position

The Manufacturing Engineer role will operate as an Operations Program Manager (OPM) - directs the development and implementation of activities in production areas to production goals, quality, cost, and delivery objectives. As an individual contributor, this role is responsible for prioritizing production schedules based on product design release, equipment efficiency, personnel resources, and materials supply. This role plans and over-sees production with respect to budget and schedules. This role develops budgetary estimates for area of responsibility, input to capital expenditure recommendations and provides status to program management.

Requirements

  • Significant operations management experience with increasing responsibility.
  • Requires practical knowledge in leading and managing the execution of processes, projects, tactics, and employees within a team.
  • Ability to work in two modes - Work as an individual contributor and driving results in a cross-functional environment.
  • Experience with resource allocation and optimization.
  • Experience with project management. Understand EAC/ETC.
  • Customer facing experience.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments.
  • Knowledge of computer-based project tools associated with resource planning, scheduling, and cost monitoring.
  • Bachelor's Degree with 4 years of prior related experience, or a minimum of 8 years of prior related experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Able to obtain and maintain a DoD Clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with materials (planning and procurement) is highly desired.
  • Lean implementation / visual management / Gemba background.
  • Experience with both electronics’ assembly and test.
  • Experience applying Cost Account Management (CAM) principles and operating cost is highly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of SAP.
  • Awareness of FARS/DFARS.
  • Cost Account Manager (CAM) experience.
  • Knowledge in the assembly and test of electronic components or systems.
  • Direct experience with defense contract industry.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritizing production schedules based on product design release, equipment efficiency, personnel resources, and materials supply.
  • Planning and overseeing production with respect to budget and schedules.
  • Developing budgetary estimates for area of responsibility.
  • Providing input to capital expenditure recommendations.
  • Providing status to program management.
  • Developing and implementing strategies to meet cost, delivery, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement commitments.
  • Facilitating Operations, Manufacturing and Quality participation in design development to identify and address manufacturability, testability and inspect ability issues.
  • Supporting the organization in the development and implementation of operating philosophies and business strategies.
  • Developing, implementing, and sustaining success metrics, incorporating best practices, and effectively communicating improvements.
