About The Position

The Specialist – Litigation is responsible for supporting the litigation and contested aspects of the foreclosure process. This role focuses on handling complex and contested matters, ensuring accurate preparation and timely filing of court documents while meeting critical deadlines. The Specialist works closely with attorneys, Managers, and Supervisors to ensure compliance with client, court, and regulatory requirements. Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and an ability to manage time-sensitive tasks are essential for this role.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in foreclosure litigation, contested matters, or a related legal field.
  • Strong understanding of foreclosure litigation processes and legal terminology.
  • Familiarity with court rules and procedures for multiple jurisdictions.
  • Knowledge of state-specific foreclosure requirements and regulations.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and case management systems.
  • Ability to draft and file legal documents accurately and promptly.
  • Ability to manage multiple contested cases simultaneously and meet critical deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with attorneys and team members.
  • Ability to identify issues and escalate them to attorneys or management as necessary.

Nice To Haves

  • Paralegal Certificate, Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of litigated and contested foreclosure cases, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately and in compliance with court-imposed deadlines.
  • Draft, review, and file legal documents such as motions, pleadings, and affidavits under the direction of attorneys. Ensure all documents meet court, state, and client standards.
  • Monitor and track key court-imposed deadlines and ensure timely completion of all associated tasks to avoid delays or sanctions.
  • Work closely with attorneys to prepare case files, gather supporting documentation, and assist in trial preparation or hearings as necessary.
  • Coordinate and manage electronic and physical filings with courts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with jurisdictional rules.
  • Communicate with clients to provide status updates, address inquiries, and respond to escalations related to litigated matters.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including Managers, Supervisors, and other Specialists, to ensure effective workflow and case progression.
  • Ensure all activities adhere to court rules, client guidelines, and regulatory requirements; promptly escalate potential issues.
  • Generate case status reports and other necessary documentation for attorneys and management.
  • Identify opportunities for improving workflow efficiency and recommend process enhancements.
  • Assist in training new team members by sharing knowledge and best practices related to litigated foreclosure matters.
