About The Position

This role is responsible for developing legal strategies and providing specialized legal expertise in one or more specialty areas. The role supports in provision of a fiduciary oversight and represents the organization before external agencies. Additionally, the role contributes to complex projects, develops new methods for recurring legal issues and mentors junior team members.

Requirements

  • Four-year or Graduate Degree in Law, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
  • Typically has 7-10 years of work experience, preferably in commercial, general or specialty law, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Develops legal strategies and identifies potential legal risks in the area of specialty for the assigned internal clients or other organization’s attorneys.
  • Provides legal subject matter expertise in one or more areas among intellectual property law, mergers and acquisitions, corporate securities law, litigation, employment, structured financial deals, government contracting, outsourcing, environmental, employee benefits, or bankruptcy etc.
  • Develops new ideas and methods to effectively address recurring legal issues or matters facing multiple client organizations.
  • Supports in provision of institutional knowledge, support, and fiduciary oversight in relation to corporate and local governance standards, policies, process, and reporting requirements.
  • Monitors evolving regulatory landscapes and industry trends to ensure the organization's adherence to changing legal requirements.
  • Represents the organization before industry policy setting organizations, government agencies and other regulatory bodies.
  • Contributes to complex multidimensional projects or transactions by identifying and resolving complex legal issues requiring in-depth knowledge and judgment within a specialty area.
  • Applies advanced subject matter knowledge, and exercises independent judgment in resolving business issues and establishing policies.
  • Mentors junior team members, providing guidance, sharing knowledge, and fostering professional growth.
