About The Position

The Specialist - IT Tech role provides technical support in resolving desktop, software, or network issues for end users. This role is responsible for maintaining the IT servers and inventory of the facility. What You Will Do At Acme: Assess and troubleshoot various desktops, software, network, as well as factory and office equipment. Maintain server room including general cleanliness, cleaning the server vents, and checking for LED alerts. Complete end user requests including updating intranet content using the CMS and basic HTML, creating label printer templates, excel spreadsheets, online website accounts, pdf forms, setting up exchange on mobile devices, setting up VPN connections and working with users during non-office hours to help troubleshoot VPN connection errors. Responsible for desktop management including installing Microsoft updates, adding computers to domain, and running anti-virus. Responsible for printer management including replacing toner cartridges, keeping track of printer maintenance kit status and replacing rollers. Responsible for phone management including adding extensions, modifying caller ID's, and resetting voicemail passwords Collaborate with leadership on IT projects and initiatives. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience required
  • Minimum of one year of progressive experience in an IT support role.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to explain technical issues to technical and nontechnical users.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent understanding of computer and networking hardware and software systems.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Ability to quickly learn a broad array of networking and systems hardware and software.
  • Completion of training programs as assigned and/or required including standard of work.
  • Observe and follow all safety rules.
  • Wear required PPE.
  • Follow mandated OSHA regulations.
  • Report all incidents including near misses immediately.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer or prolonged periods of standing.
  • The ability to work in cold (32 to 45F) and wet environment.
  • Exposure to low level of noise on production floor.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
