About The Position

This role focuses on improving student learning through data analysis, collaborative action planning, and the dissemination of evidence-based practices. The Specialist will facilitate targeted student interventions, support MTSS/EWS and PBS processes, and provide professional development and coaching to school staff. The position also involves performing Medicaid administrative claims reimbursable activities and ensuring compliance with relevant privacy and public information laws.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in education or a related field.
  • Four (4) years of teaching experience with coaching or mentoring experience.
  • Valid Florida teaching certificate.
  • Knowledge of and a deep understanding of how students learn and various instructional and behavioral practices available in the school setting.
  • Knowledge of adult learning processes.
  • Knowledge of data-based problem solving.
  • Knowledge of MTSS, EWS, and PBS processes.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and enforce pertinent regulations, policies, and procedures for the functional area of assignment.
  • Knowledge of and experience using multiple project management tools and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, Public Records, Sunshine Law, FERPA, and other laws/regulations related to student and employee privacy, public information, and records retention.
  • Ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Ability to deliver high-quality customer service in a timely and professional manner.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in education or a related field.
  • Valid Florida teaching certificate in an area of Exceptional Student Education (ESE).
  • Four (4) years of Highly Effective/Effective teaching experience with coaching or mentoring experience.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and analyze multiple sources types of data to improve student learning.
  • Facilitate effective team-based collaborative action planning and problem-solving processes inclusive of family, student, school, and community stakeholders.
  • Disseminate evidence-based content knowledge including, but not limited to, organizational change/implementation processes, MTSS/EWS and PBS knowledge and expertise, and best practices in reading, math, science, and behavior instruction.
  • Facilitate and support targeted student interventions to implement and sustain MTSS/EWS and PBS processes at the individual student, classroom, and school-based levels.
  • Perform Medicaid administrative claims reimbursable activities as directed in accordance with Chapter 3 of the federally approved School District Administrative Claiming (SDAC) Guide.
  • Provide evidence-based professional development training, instructional coaching, and technical assistance to support data-based problem solving.
  • Utilize data to inform ongoing school-based professional development, technical assistance, and coaching so as to improve the fidelity of MTSS/EWS and PBS implementation processes and overall student and staff outcomes.
  • Build the capacity of MTSS/EWS and PBS processes at the school level.
