About The Position

This role supports the National Platforms team with the overall sales process including, but not limited to, the following: Partners with relationship managers to provide quarterly and ad-hoc product updates to current and prospective clients. Conducts investment and competitive analysis using Morningstar Direct. Conducts research on new prospective clients utilizing company websites, Dakota, and other appropriate sources. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with internal/external stakeholders to achieve sales objectives. Participates in assigned national platform team projects. Maintains client list for use by sales team and Nationwide internal partners. Develops and maintains product approval list by client firm. Serves as a technical consultant for other areas of the company, serving as a resource to internal/external stakeholders for their assigned area(s) of responsibility. Occasional travel for in-person client updates. Develops business on behalf of the Nationwide Investment Management in a manner that supports a positive company image, in compliance with all required rules and regulations and ethical in all considerations. As an Investment Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting sales across a defined geographic region. You will be tasked with supporting the overall sales process from start to finish and will be integral part of the sales team, in driving lead generation, conducting investment analysis requests, scheduling meetings, and conducting meetings in your assigned region.

Requirements

  • Candidates must have FINRA Series 6 in hand at time of hire.
  • FINRA Series 7 and 63 required and must be obtained within 120 days from date of hire.
  • Three years of related experience including, but not limited to, product plan administration and sales, customer service, sales consulting, relationship management, project management, communication and marketing.
  • FINRA Series 7 and 63.

Nice To Haves

  • CFA, CAIA or CIMA-licensed or progress toward or desire to obtain is preferred.
  • Investment acumen, sales and product management.
  • Strong organizational skills and understanding of investment products, specifically mutual funds and ETFs.
  • Undergraduate studies in business administration or related field preferred.
  • Participation in, or attainment of, technical coursework desirable.

  • Builds and maintains strong business relationships with key sales clients to meet or exceed established sales goals, quotas, targets or objectives for their assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Proactively schedules meetings with prospective clients and current clients for external sales partners.
  • Partners with key stakeholders to support the development of territory business plans designed to increase territory sales.
  • Analyzes lead management outputs and communicates to internal constituents.
  • Develop and build remote market strategy within territory, including scheduling virtual and in person meetings.
  • Conducts investment analysis and competitive analysis.
  • Assists the sales team in identifying solutions for new business opportunities within the constraints of existing product and administrative capabilities.
  • Participates in assigned sales projects.
  • Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends for assigned area(s) of responsibility, assesses the impact, and collaborates with management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions.
  • Meets or exceeds all department, and sales and/or activity goals for their assigned territory.
  • Plans and executes marketing solutions within assigned territory.
  • Serves as a resource to internal/external stakeholders for their assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
