About The Position

L3Harris is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Site Media Custodian and Alternate Facility Security Officer (AFSO) to join our Industrial Security Team. The MC/AFSO will assist the Program Security Manager with the implementation of media control policy and procedures for the Plano and Richardson, TX sites. They will act as the primary point of contact for all classified and unclassified media actions (inventory, accountability, tracking, shipping/receiving etc.) at the Plano and Richardson sites. They will also assist the Facility Security Officer (FSO) with the management, administration, and coordination of industrial security programs and other security activities to ensure compliance with government and company security policies and procedures. They will also be the primary point of contact for all classified and unclassified media at the Plano and Richardson sites.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience
  • Active Secret clearance
  • Strong foundational knowledge and experience with DoDM 5205.07 and the application of media control/separation of duties

Nice To Haves

  • Experience writing policies and procedures to achieve security requirement objectives
  • Strong knowledge of security regulations and best practices, including 32 CFR 117 (NISPOM), Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs), Special Access Program (SAP) directives and other governing directives, as applicable.
  • Experience with DISS, SIMS software, and general understanding of access control systems.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills and superior attention to detail.
  • Performs other duties as required and assigned by leadership.
  • Experience with access control/visit control/badge management systems and software.
  • Experience with security onboarding of new hires and conducting briefings.
  • Knowledge of Foreign Travel Requirements.
  • Demonstrate basic organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Well versed in risk management, mitigation, and customer service.
  • Excellent written and verbal presentation skills

Responsibilities

  • Administer and coordinate security activities in accordance with company policies and federal regulations for safeguarding National Security Information.
  • Administer, coordinate and oversee the implication and adherence to the site Media Control Policy and procedures in both collateral and Special Access Programs (SAP) environments
  • Conduct 100% inventory and periodic audits of media; assist in preparing to receive or ship media
  • Develop, implement, and manage Standard Practices and Procedures, and visitor control procedures compliant with 32 CFR Part 117 NISPOM Rule.
  • Maintain combination records and respond to alarms if necessary.
  • Maintain facility DISS/NBIS accounts and participate in the utilization/upkeep of SIMs records
  • Provide security briefings and training to new employees and participate in corporate-wide security education programs.
  • Participate in security self-assessment initiatives.
  • Support global travel security program initiatives and government reporting activities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, representing the company on projects. Excellent verbal and electronic communication skills.
