SPECIALIST III – LEAN MANUFACTURING (Athens, North) PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE SPECIALIST III – LEAN MANUFACTURING This hands -on role supports the day-to-day efforts toward the achievement of the strategic plan objectives. This role supports value stream mapping and kaizen events. This role provides manufacturing or other data to assist in the creation of control charts, identify process capabilities, areas to focus or to create KPI’s or targets to measure progress. This role aids with development and documentation of KPI’s and systems designed to sustain and drive continuous improvement using Carpenters Operating Model. Ability to travel 25% to other locations within a specified region. Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

BA/BS degree in Engineering, Project Management or related field preferred, plus 4+ years of successful lean implementation experience with proven record of sustainable results OR · High School Diploma required, plus 6+ years of relevant lean implementation experience required.
Successful candidates will have prior knowledge and practical experience in a manufacturing/industrial setting with a strong focus on Lean Manufacturing operations.
Extensive job-related experience with LEAN manufacturing tools and methods.
Proven ability to drive continuous improvement by identifying and eliminating waste using applicable tools and analysis.
Proven coaching, facilitation and organizational skills with a track record of successful change management.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Must be proactive, creative, and a hands-on change agent.
Should have team building and rapid execution abilities.
Self-motivated and ability to “think on your feet” when working and a “can do” approach to work.
Self-Starter who can creatively drive continuous improvement on their own initiative with guidance as necessary.
Strong analytical, mathematical, computer and basic business skills. Able to bring clarity and optimal solutions from abstract information.
Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Willingness to work in a fast-paced, demanding and ever-changing environment with frequently changing priorities.

Responsibilities

Implement improvements to the production process flow.
Directly support our operations through the Lean journey by working with the Lean Leaders, Managers and other key stakeholders.
Directly engage in the development, implementation, monitoring and improvement of efficient manufacturing processes and workflows.
Recommend hands-on process improvements using a combination of Lean Manufacturing tools with a focus towards optimizing labor resources and systems, flow creation, 5S and waste reduction.
Improve existing operations for increased safety, quality, productivity, efficiency and cost savings.
Lead Problem Solving to root cause and recommend or implement corrective actions.
Assist in identifying ways to reduce production inefficiencies through recommendations – new processes, elimination of waste, machinery enhancements, process improvements.
