About The Position

This is a temporary 12-month term opportunity, with potential for extension. This position has a hybrid work arrangement, with an average of one day on-site per week, subject to change due to business priorities. As ATB’s next Settlements Specialist II in Processing Operations, you play a key role in escalation management, exceptions processing, and process design related to money movement on the ATB Wealth Operations team. You build strong relationships with leaders, analysts, and advisors to implement client-obsessed solutions to complex problems. The successful candidate represents Operations as a subject matter expert, leveraging knowledge of investment products and accounts, money movement systems, policies, and procedures. This role collaborates with internal teams to adapt operational processes to changing industry requirements and client expectations.

Requirements

  • Post secondary education preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2-5 years experience in the securities and/or banking industry
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills (written and verbal)
  • The ability to work independently under high pressure situations to deliver results, while balancing competing priorities
  • Curiosity; you are compelled to make things better
  • Strong computer and technical skills with experience in Excel, Google Sheets and the Google Suite of products an asset
  • You are client obsessed, a champion of belonging, and driven to perform

Nice To Haves

  • Prior project and/or change management experience is an asset
  • Working knowledge of deposit, payment, and clearing systems and processes is an asset
  • Prior experience using SAP, Dataphile, and Salesforce is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Possess working knowledge of the wealth management industry in order to support a team of analysts in high volume transactional processing. This includes, but is not limited to, knowledge of investment account types, product types, and the rules/regulations governing them.
  • Identify, develop, and implement effective and efficient process or system improvements with strong consideration for technology enhancements, in order to meet changing industry requirements, and support business growth.
  • Have the ability to assess and document current procedures, create robust impact assessments, and lead change management activities by collating information across systems, analyzing data, and translating findings.
  • Provide clear communication and solutions to advisors and partners regarding escalated and complex client inquiries, while demonstrating effective management of risk.
  • Cultivate strong working relationships with ATB Wealth and ATB Financial partners including but not limited to Advisors, Associates, Operations analysts, and specialists.
  • Recommends, influences, and makes decisions on solutions that impact the settlements team by articulating recommendations, plans, and action across varying mediums and writing well-structured communications.
  • Make data-driven recommendations when faced with complex, unexpected, or difficult situations. Have the ability to objectively assess the situation, identify and weigh alternative options. Synthesize and translate information clearly and concisely.
  • Able to support direct leader and more senior leaders in Operations by consistently demonstrating the above mentioned skills and abilities while anticipating business needs and creating awareness of emerging tech trends to drive change in both the day to day and those tasks that support strategic business goals.
